I created Em's notes because I ran out of space in my brain and I already have too many post-its and notebooks. Maybe I'm selfishly hoping to make you laugh, or snort. Maybe I can't resist the human impulse to be like, "look what I did!" In all likelihood, Em's notes will be but a speck in the vast internet sea. But hey, writing brings me joy, so here I am.
What you should know about me
📚 There's a few aromas in life that just 'get me there'. Freshly cut grass, post rainfall earth, and that new book smell.
🧀 My favorite meal is was cheese. But life decided to end my lifelong affair with dairy on my 37th birthday. Don't even try to convince me that Cashew cheese is "so good you can't even tell!" Lies.
💜 I believe friendship gets undervalued once you grow up and couple up, and I hope to change that.
🕷 I try not to kill spiders anymore. Growth isn’t always dramatic.
🐾 I’m a cat lady, and not ashamed of it (low-key f*** the patriarchy).

🧠 Curiosity
You know how kids always ask a million questions and "but why" you to death? Well, I never grew out of that.
💜 Care
Emo kid, heart on sleeve, secretly hoping people stop apologizing for crying. Yeah, I care, like a lot. I'm learning to stop feeling ashamed for being "too sensitive."
🤝 Collaboration
I'm a people person by day, hermit crab by night. Even though I consider myself to be pretty independent, I know the notion of self-sufficiency is a myth. We rely on each other in a multitude of ways, and the communities I'm a part of are essential to my well being.
🌄 Creativity
Fun, play, experimentation, exploration. All of these are what keep me alive (sane?)
🎨 Vulnerability
It’s okay to change. I believe in experimenting often, and embracing the evolution of who we are and what we create. You don’t have to ‘die on that hill’ for the rest of your life, you’re allowed to pivot into as many versions of yourself as you desire.
🌿 Legacy
To me, legacy isn’t about having my name on a building, it’s about how I make people feel in each interaction or room I’m in. I do my best to move through the world with (undivided) attention, kindness, and humor.
